tranny on the way out?

So Ive always had what feels like a mild misfire when the engine is cold, I just kind of shrugged it off.

In the past few days this "misfire feeling" has been constant, well after the engine warms up. The cold misfire does it only when im on the gas, however the new one is a little different.

If Im in any gear at a constant rpm it feels like a mild misfire (a slight bucking too), or even if Im in gear coasting it does it, but as soon as I mash in the clutch or put it into neutral it stops. Obviously that doesnt help narrow the list much, but a little bit at least.

My guesses are: possible misfire? clutch slip (which I doubt), or tranny on the way out. anyway to check this?

i bet it has nothing to do with the clutch, tranny. It seems like this is a motor problem that only occurs when the motor is under load. Since it goes away when the clutch is engaged or the car is put into neutral. I have no idea what it could be but you may want to start by checking fuel pressure and for vaccum leaks. But its very normal to have a problem occur only when the engine is under load. Hope this helps...

Eg.my car (stock cpu on a very modified motor) idles fine and revs cleanly between idle and 1800rpm but if I put it into any gear and try to drive at rpms below 1800rpms the car bucks violently. My issue is completely related to the fact that I need to tune the cpu for the motor, but theres an example for you of a "load only" based motor problem.:D

Oh check plug wires and the plugs themselves also. Easy way to do that is pop the hood at night (or in a very dark place) and fire up the car. If theres a problem with spark, you will see a blue "light show" coming from the problem.
