OK well I've had my transgo shift kit installed for almost 2 weeks now and all of a sudden the car drives funny. when i turn the OD off she drives fine, but since I always drive with it on to save gas its not shifting into 4th. when i get up to around 50 or so she just starts revving as if its in neutral. once it gets back down to around 20 it drives fine. the shop that installed the shift kit is saying i fried the tranny and it prolly needs a rebuild. what could be the problem? cuz im thinking that if the trannys fried, it wouldnt drive at all.

Were you abusing it? Like brake torques and stuff? If not then I'd take it back to the shop that installed it and tell them to fix it. Obviously, they screwed something up. I like how they told you "you" fried the tranny..

I wasnt abusing it at all. i baby the hell outta my car. thats the thing. yeah it is funny how they said "I" fried it. what im thinkin is that maybe its the vaccuum module. maybe the tranny just isnt getting enough pressure to shift when the OD is on. thats my guess. the funny thing it drives absolutely fine when i turn the OD off. wonder if it really is the vaccum

ODs dont have a vacuum source to them, so rule that problem out, I would take it back to the shop where you had the kit put in, they didnt do something right, could also be something electrical is no hooked up right, definately take it back and make them fix at no cost, why should you have to pay for their F$^** ups.

i dont think the shop that installed it is willing to pay for the repair because they said they guarantee their work but not the shift kit since i didnt buy it from them. my guess is that im gonna drive 40 minutes away to this place just to hear that the shift kit was defective and they wont pay to fix it. thats usually how repair shops work. they like to milk u for all ur worth. even it though it was there fault for what happened, defective kit or not. i called up Aamco just to talk to someone and they said it needs a rebuild and that its unsafe driving my car with the OD turned off since my car was not designed to drive with it off. doing so will burn up the clutch and destroy the tranny even more.

ive got aamco tellin me its not safe driving my car at all now. when i turn off the OD, she runs perfectly fine. i was thinkin that its still safe for me to drive down to charleston, aside from sucking up gas. its only when the OD is engaged is when its not workin.
