i was driving around earlier and i had a couple of people in my car so i decided to get on it from a light. when i went to shift hard into 2nd i messed up and heard a bad grinding noise. well when i stopped at the next light, my trans was really hard to get into 1st and then even harder to get into second. it goes into the other gears with no problem. but when driving it the rest of the day it was way to hard to get it into 1st and 2nd. do any of you geniuses have any advice or insight? thank you

I would start by checking your clutch cable and if your running the stock quadrant i would definatly check that.

Start with the cheaper , simpler things.

I agree, you probably blew something up. Most likely a piece of metal from the gear or synchro is stuck somewhere in your 1-2 cluster and is causing it to jam up.

Most likely the final gasp of worn 2-3 synchros in the 1-2 shift area. Could be a bent shift fork, or lost pads on the end of the shift fork, but I would pull it with the idea or replacing the 1-2 stuff.

Not real hard to do or uncommon.

Do yourself a favor and when that tranny finally go's ka-put (and its only a manner of time before it does now), drop an extra $500 bucks ontop of the $650-$850 they're going to charge you to rebuild and buy yourself a Tremec, a T5 isn't worth a **** in my book, done went through two and i still ain't learned my lesson yet...Oh well...

Just ordered a rebuild kit for 330 shipped from hanlon with the 1-2 shaft, steel bearing ring and video. If you are on a tight budget you can go that route.
