Tranny problems?

So I was in my car the other day and all of a sudden I had no clutch pedal, could shift from 3rd and4th but it was nearly impossiable. So with the car parked I can go through the gears but if its running I cant shift. Is the tranny junk? or the clutch cable? I was able to stop and go while in 3rd if that makes a difference

If you had no clutch pedal, you would not be able to shift at all. Did the pedal just get kinda soft? The cable might have started to snap. Otherwise, the pressure plate might be broken.

In any case, restore your pedal feel before assuming the trans is at fault.

It slowly got soft until it went all the way down. It was grinding a little while I was shiffting. So you think I should start with replacing the cable?

Have someone push the pedal while you watch the fork. If the fork barely moves, inspect the cable. You might find it frayed. If there' a ton of slack in the cable all of a sudden, the cable is probably letting go.

If the fork moves a lot, I'd be thinking that it's more likely a clutch issue.

I'd look at the cable and clutch pressure plate first.

Cable more than likely is the culprit
