TRANNY question

they want $1200 dollars to rebuild my automatic if i take it out, i found a 5 speed out of a 94 gt for $500. it comes with pedals, computer, some kind of wiring harness. can you think of anything else i would need. and is this swap pretty simple.....thanks for any help guys

Bellhousing, clutch cable, clutch release lever, TOB, pressure plate, clutch disc, manual transmission flywheel, shifter.

That is all I can think of now. Do a search on here and it should come up with more than I listed.

he bout covered it.... i was fortunate enough to get the tranny, comp, pedals, clutch, an flywheel all together.. its a fairly simple swap..rewiring your backup lights to the new harness, an your neutral safety switch. So the car dosen't roll in neutral. had to cut an reweld my exahust to get it out. the AODE is extremely heavy..so drop it w/ some friends, please.

i did it. we had a lot the neccessary peripherals lying around tho: lever, TOB, pressure plate, shifter.. so that really wasn't an issue. most stuff you can get cheap used. ebay or autozone..for a temp "get it runnin" kind of deal. don't, I repeat, don't race it heavily untill you've got a good setup tho: better clutch, adj cable, quadrant, shifter; your power will quickly find the weak link in yer setup.

rebuillt stock aode=teh luz3. 5 spd all the way. the car jus woke up. like i added a new set of heads an cam.. its soo much more fun to drive. get better gas milage too..60 horses an 70 ft lbs over stock ain't too shabby either. .
