I have a 89 gt 5.0. Friday I was on the highway doing around 70ish when I tried to go faster I noticed my RPM's where like in the 4 to 5,000 range and the car was not pulling. The car is a automatic. So I got off the highway did what I had to do and headed home. While on the side streets I was driving along and I noticed when I was going about 40, 45ish my tranny would stop pulling and the RPM's where really high also. I would have to slow down to like 25 or 30 for it to start pulling again. When I got home I noticed my TV cable was disconnected. I attached it back and now i still have the same problem. The fluid is full and it doesn't smell burnt. Could I possible have a bad TV cable? Are my gears gone in my tranny? Any suggestions?

That is a goofy problem. I would try readjusting the TV cable again. There is a prcedure to adjusting them. Secondly, I would get it checked out by a tranmission shop first. You might have a clogged valve body. I had a 91 GT last year that shifted too early and was sluggish. I had it flushed out and they pulled the valve body out and cleaned it. They told me that the thing was full of crap. I tell you what the car was night and day when finished.
That worked for me, although may not for you. You might have some bad clutches or something. AOD's did not have performance characterisitcs when they were built.
