I recently picked up this 95 vert that had sat for 3 years due to a bad tranny. The girl said when the tranny went all the car would do was rev but not go until it eventually wouldn't move at all. The shop told her it would have to be replaced, but a mechanic never looked it over, just told her this based on what she described to me. Well I got the motor primed and fired up and it runs good. I noticed the tranny fluid was shot and the car (aode trans) when put in drive would not do anything. No sounds, smells, rattles, clinks etc. So for the hell of it I added a little fluid to the stuff already in it and the car will move in either forward or reverse, but after a few seconds it won't move at all. If I start the car back up and do this again, it will move and stop working after a few seconds. Again, it makes no sounds or smells or anything to give away that it is burned up Does it sound to anyone that the trans is shot or does it need only something minor like a fluid and filter change, or some other part?
