What's up!? I have a '98 GT with an auto tranny. How much would it cost to put in a manual? What all would be involved in doing so? Thanks guys!

do a search. alot of people have talked about it.

you will need a new bellhousing, tranny, driveshaft (possibly), clutch kit, clutch cable, clutch pedal assembly. the clutch pedal assembly will be the hard one to come up with. i cant remember off the top of my head but i believe it is one assembly with the brake and gas pedal.

the easier way is just go out and buy a 5spd somewhere...or put a new stall converter in your auto to make it more fun.

Here's an excellent article on doing the auto > TKO 600 swap

http://www.2kgt.com/item.php?itemid=105

I used a lot of this for reference when I swapped mine for a t56 6-speed.

If your car isn't heavily modded, I would trade it for a 5-speed.

I did a full step by step write up on this along with links to places to get the hard to find parts. Go search it.

Thats really just a question for yourself...I had my 96 auto for about a year before I made the swap, and I've NEVER regretted it. If you really have no desire to sell your car but really want a manual, then the extra work and money involved is well worth it.
