Noobz you mean a higher stall torque converter? Than yes. 12 inch I believe is stock. The smaller diameter the higher the stall speed.

That may be it. I just recall something about the 4R70W being the hot ticket due to stall converter compatibility but I don't recall specifics.

This is the second tranny and I’m not sure what comes with a shift kit either. I had a leak so I just replaced the seals. The prev owner put 700 miles on it the last 7 yrs. Now it’s being used. I’ve put a 1000 miles on it last 5 mos. I don’t do the shifting trick. I just drive n go. It’s a cruiser for me. I’m 55

redid my AOD a few years ago,,, reached out to Dan at Silverfox and used his valvebody, hardened input shaft, A servo, better bands, and TCI 3000 stall,,

Now I don't race or abuse the car but it does put down over 450rwhp and holds up well, If i manually shift it will lay down rubber hard in 1 and pretty good in 2nd... 3.73 out back... i agree the converter makes a huge differnce, Get the largest plate style cooler you can though.
