Hey guys im new on this site, and i figured id put it to use. I have a 94 cobra with a vortech v-1 tuned to 8lbs. the car pulled 430 hp at the wheels, and i know im losing much power in my sloppy t-5, its been rebuilt 1 once, and the car just sound like its ready to take off in the air, but feels like im losing powe. Either in the rear end (maybe gears) or in the tranny. What should i get for a tranny. I am on a very limited budget bc i just dumpled 6k into the car. Maybe a refurbished one? Any suggestions guys?

If the tranny was rebuilt correctly, then you should not be loosing power from the tranny. What do you mean "the car just sound like its ready to take off in the air"? Could the clutch be slipping with that much power?

what i meant is the engine sounds mean as hell, it sounds like a dc10 jet plane...and by the sound and feel i just have this feeling that im losing power bad somewhere...clutch....tranny.....maybe stock ignition....maybe my gears....but im not happy right now~ my check engine light is coming on when you floor the car to 4th or 5th..if you floor it just in first and second..everything is fine...but when you give it hefty gas from 1st to 4th or 5th than take her out of gear at idle moving at any speed check engine light comes on, engine wants to die, put her back in gear the light turns off 5 seconds later and she runs fine...i really could use some input...could it be the fact that i have 42lb injectors, high flow intank and out fuel pumps, and a stock ignition?? b/c im putting the 6AL in tonight.
