I have a 2001 V6 with Auto and 105k miles. At idle it lopes bad between 700rpm and 1200rpm when its in drive/gear. At highway speeds or cruising feels like its shifting in and out of gear Lansing Transmission told me i have a ignition prob but i installed a new coil pack, plugs and wires, and a new fuel filter I appreciate any help TY.

sounds to me like your forward clutches are going bad. do you ever "power brake" it or do "brake Stands"?

i dont think its your tranny. you need to scan the computer for codes..
if you were having trans problems there will be a fault code stored..
the engine is probably just bucking making it feel like a trans problem.

The only codes i have r 0420 0430 for the cats but those r off am i not getting enough back pressure it just started doing it recently and its been 6 months since ive had that cats taken off.

But i've never Braked tourqued it though now with the warmer weather its not really doing it.

sounds like the clutch plate in the torque converter is slipping/mush, a common prob for 4R70W's around 35-45mph

Is that a bitch to fix im pretty mechanically inclined worked at a dealership and Auto classes for two years but didnt dick w/ trannys to much Automatics anyway?

Sorry guys, it sounds like none of the above. The computer controls idle and RPM. If it was a slipping transmission then this wouldn't happen unloaded at idle like that. It is impossible for it to be the torque converter clutch because the torque converter is not applied at idle.

What I would do is get the thing hooked up to something that you can watch what the car is doing like a Ford NGS or an Xcal 2 or similar. You can see from that data what the computer is doing and the place its making its changes will show you what you need to look at.
