Well yesterday me and my friend changed my trans case leak that I had.
After apply the new fluid it seems it doesnt wanna catch first gear or go into reverse with out some hestitation.

Well today I went to pep boys and picked up that Slick 50 high mileage auto treatment. I put that in. It seemed to solve my reverse issue but the 1st gear catching is still questionable.

What are my other options if it doesnt get fixed? Thanks in Advance cause im a damn 5.0 noob :bang:

To be honest buddy I just looked it up in the manual. I cannot see how it would just start after the fluid change unless it was going before. Maybe after a while it will improve. I just wrote what the problem could be.

Here's a possible...

If the fluid was blackened or burnt, and now it is slipping with new fluid, your trans is likely hurt.

When the fluid gets black from heat, or sometimes just being really old and abused, it glazes and varnishes the clutch plates in the trans. It may work somewhat ok with the thinned out old fluid. But, the nice fresh fluid provides enough lubrication to where the plates do not grab so well any more.

Not much to do except rebuild it, if this is what is going on.

Yup, that;'s why most tranny shops refuse to change the fluid on a transmission with over 100K miles. When fluid is old, the tranny gets "used" to it. When you flush and refill it, it will sometimes slip.

On a lighter note, did you replace the filter? if you forget to put the o-ring on the top of the filter the tranny will slip as well.

Also did you fill it up all the way? Low fluid can cause slipping too
