I'm swapping the auto trans in my '90 LX for a T5 from T-bird. The guy at the junk yard said it was an '86, but I found out the '86 had cable clutch setups. I guess it's from either an '87 or '88 instead. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for setting up the hydrolic clutch on my mustang.

Yeah... Dont.. I would try to find a cable bell housing and pedal assembly and use that. Hydraulic clutches are a pain.

If it's from a Turbo Coupe you'll also have to swap the speedo gear in the transmission because the T5s behind turbo engines had a different one from the n/a ones.

So no one has used the hydraulic clutch set up in a fox body? I've seen pictures of it, but no kind of instructions to help do it.

Sorry, its just not a popular thing to do. The standard cable setup is less hassle and is easy enough to push down. If you have disabilities which prevent you from driving a standard car then i could see it being a acceptable idea.

Hey, see if you can get the engine from that car too! If you're swapping the transmission, might as well swap the motor at the same time.

It's a direct swap if you choose to do so, just hook everything up the same as it is in the TC.

I was actually there for the engine, but it was no good. No plugs in the holes, so it was rusted up inside and out.
