if i get a transgo shift kit can i shift my aod manually? i have a 91 coupe. thay say it will hold any gear. and has manual shifting capability. but wouldnt that still be the 1-d-1 shuffle. that would ruin the aod right?
yes with the AOD-HP you still have to do the 1-d-1 shuffle. I talked directly to a tech at transgo and he told me this would not hurt the tranny in any way, all it does is lock it into 2nd until you put it back into D. I know some will argue that point but this is what the tech told me. Personally i tried it both ways and with the aod-hp kit and high rev gov. installed my car is faster shifting on it's own when in D. by the way it's a great kit
