Transmission Change vs. Rebuilt

My 97' has 123K and the transmission (automatic) is starting to slip more and more every day. I am thinking on rebuilding the transmission...o is it better to just get a new one? (I just want a stock automatic).

That is really going to depend on how good of a reputation your local trans. shop has and how much they charge. A basic PA or Lentech will run you around $1300.00. My car has 122k on it now and I have though about what I am going to do when/if i end up in the same situation you are in, truth is I am not sure myself .



Oh and get ready , alot of the replies after mine will be "why not just swap for a five speed?"

gonna say all depends on who is going to re-build it, are they going to back up the build...

what do you use your car for,, racing just street?? How about mods ?? Power?
