Ok, had my mechanic, and friend look at my car today, motor and engine has been removed, rebuilt, and replaced..he says they transmission is banging the underside of the car... just need some input and thoughts on this, it does have an aftermarket shifter..what do you guys think? Something didnt get aligned properly when the motor was put back in? Anyway, suspose to take it back next week and let them do surgery on it, im thinking motor didnt go back in the car correctly or something because the exhaust was hitting also and i had it cut and fixed. Something isnt aligned somewhere...

Right off the bat, how old are the motor mounts and transmission mounts?

What action that you perform causes the trans/motor/drivetrain to make the sound?

Seems the harder you get on it, the louder it gets..he put it on the rack and looked it over good..if your driving it normally, you dont have a noise, its when you start driving the car pretty hard it gets louder. i had new u-joints put in a couple months ago, that was part of the noise i was hearing.

Definitely sounds like the mounts have taken a dump. After an older vehicle like mine was driven daily for 10 years, the motor mounts were horrid, almost no rubber left. The car felt brand new after I had new ones installed.
