Hey all, from previous threads, I determined I need to replace the transmission in my 04 GT that only has 80k miles... weird. but anyway... it's a Tremec and I found one for sale from an 02 GT... Tremec... would it be exactly the same? everything would just bold right up and any sensors ans stuff would be good?

There is a small possibility that the number of teeth on the OSS speed sensor could be different (I'm don't know for certain which model year the OSS was changed). If so, the speedometer will be off. However, it can be corrected with a hand held tuner. IMO this is not a reason to not do the swap.

The only difference in transmissions for 99-04 is on the automatic the manual is the same in late 03 they won't from a 4r70 to a 4r75 so the only issue would be speed calibration which is done by pcm so like the person above said a turner would fix

I swapped in a '01 3650 when I broke my original in my '04 back in 2007. Everything was the same except for the sensor for reverse. The connector was different. Just swapped the sensor one from original trans to the replacement.

Best picture I could find online. Circled the sensor that may need swapped.

T45 99-01 tr3650 02-04 these are the 5 speed manuals both by made by tremec all interchangeable.
