I need a transmission cooler for my '92 LX with an AOD but I dont know which size to get.
I looked on Summit's website and they have a few different sizes.
The car has AC so theres a condensor in it still.
Its got a 2800-3200 stall converter, a shift kit and 4.10 gears.
What size is right for this car?

The biggest one you can fit (something for 25K+ GVWR, IMHO). Go with a stacked plate version.

The ones with the screw-in NPT fittings are preferable over the brazed bungs IMHO.

Just MHO.

I really dont know how big of one will fit and the right thickness.
If the car was here I could measure it but I dont have access to it right now.

I dont think I want something taking up the whole frontal area of the condensor/radiator because of cooling for those parts.

The coolers are not that big. Even the largest of the popular ones are like 8 x 11 or so. I normally install the coolers sideways so they really dont take up a lot of space, nor do they put a whole lot of heat back into the other coils (in my experience).

What about the thickness?
Most are 1.5" thick. Ive got the ac condenser still in the car so is there enough clearance that way?

There certainly should be. You might end up moving the Power steering cooler a little bit (depending upon how you mount it) but that's about it.

Here's the one I have on my car. I have 3000 rpm non lock-up converter, PA valve body, 3.73 gears. Has been on my car for 8 years now. NO problems.
