My dad and I did the swap on a 91 GT he had and we let the auto computer and wiring in place and it ran just fine. We did connect the clutch safety switch though.

If you are use a A9L manual computer you will want to get the NSS working properly.

Yeah I have a D3D computer which is a 5.0 standard computer. I didn’t know I had to switch out that harness. I watched the 5 part series from LMR and they didn’t mention anything about the transmission harness

You can sometimes get a hanging idle without it in place. Sometimes...

really, the correct way to do this after a 5-spd swap is to chsnge the trans harness to the one that has the provision for the NGS, and repin the o2 harness for manual trans, and run the manual ECU.

can you run the auto conputer? Sure. I did. But every once in a while I’d get a hanging idle that would correct when you pushed the clutch in. This is because the clutch switch and NGS are wired in parallel and either one, when closed, will tell the ECU the trans is in nuetral (or clutch in) and may command a different idle setting.

Awesome thanks for all the info, I have to pull the carpet again to do the harness in the transmission tunnel correct?

The harness runs from driver's kick panel, under the driver's seat, and out through a grommet into the trans tunnel. You can manage by pulling the driver's seat, and pulling up the carpet on that side only leaving the console in place
