Can anyone identify this transmission? Automatic with 2 bolt starter. I originally got to replace mine 02 gt vert. Casing is different. I have 3 bolt starter in mine.

1R3F is a 2001+ part number.

As far as I know, the 4R70W with the 2-bolt starter got the 3.8L/4.2L/windsor bellhousing bolt pattern and the 3-bolt starter versions were for the 4.6L.

The V6 4R70W has one less clutch plate in it, but can be upgraded. However, it won't bolt to a 4.6L
