I think my transmission has been leaking but it is doing something kinda weird. I can be going down the road and punch it and the rpms will go up to like 4-5k but the car will pick up very little speed then it will shift and pick up the speed. Also yesterday I stopped then pressed the gas pedal it did nothing for like 1 second then jerked into first gear. Could this be the shift kit or what?

Im no mechanic or anything just trying to help. My Trans. range sensor (?) had to be replaced but since the previous owner had driven it for so long with this problem i went ahead and overhauled it.

have not driven the car in about 4 days and now there is a big puddle of transmission fluid under it :( This is really making me mad because the prevoius owner just had it rebuilt last june and a shift kit put in it. I am guessing now it will have to be totaly rebuilt again. Am i right?

got up under the car today and like 3 of the screws in the transmission pan are different. The ones that are different are loose and will not screw in :nonono:

edit does anyone know where I can buy bolts

oh yeah, try getting a fluid change, might help out a lot. my current aode was slipping and when i installed the shift kit and got the fluid change, it was all good. maybe the shift kit helped, but yours has been leaking so you might as well change the filter and gasket and refill it with new fluid. Just trying to help out

Since you said there's a puddle of tranny fluid the tranny is probably not able to hold any pressure and most likely there isn't much fluid left. For the bolts I would take off one of the stock bolts and put it into one of the holes where the other different bolt is so you can see if it's stripped. If it goes in fine then I would go a Ford dealer to get them or find an auto parts store that has a gauge that tells you exactly what the size and thread of the correct bolt is. Then refill with fluid and test the tranny.

I had a rubber hose that went to my tranny cooler and it developed a pin sized hole that you couldn't even see. With the car running you could see the tranny fluid shoot out, combined with the lack of pressure and fluid the tranny shifted exactly the way you described.
