Okay, my dad has a 93 Mustang convertible, 2.3 auto with a A4LD. The tranny was going out on it, so we picked one up on craigslist that a guy had from one he did a t5 swap on. We got it all in and everything, and now when we start it there is a grounding noise coming from the bell housing area. The transmission works fine and such, just has this grinding noise. I have never had this problem before..
We shimmed the starter and the noise got worst, which struck me odd. The teeth on the flexplate are showing signs that it looks like its hitting the starter drive gear, but I don't see how it would be worst when I shim the starter away
Any help would be appreciated at what to look at.. Ive pulled the starter out a few times and made sure nothing was in the bellhousing and everything. I really don't wanna drop the tranny again but will if I have to. Thanks
