1996 Ford Mustang V6 130,xxx
Hey guys im new here. Wife car is giving me the ran around.
Recenly its been showing problems with the transmisson. When going from Park to Drive it has a really long delay in shifting into Drive, it has no delay into R. That was the first problem that started showing up. I have checked the fluid and it at level it should be, the color of the fluid is red.
The next problem shows up at random, today when i went to drive it. I went from Park to Drive with the delay, it went in to drive then I steped of the gas and it felt like it went back out of gear back into gear. So I went on down the road and everything shifted fine no problems, went to take a turn and the trans shifted from 3rd to 1st gear. It does not do this all the time, it will do it sometimes when your at a stop and you go to start off it will jump in first out of first in to second. This problem shows up at random, it will show itself once then everything will be fine after that.
I am at a lost what is causing this???? I don't know if it could be a sensor or the transmission itself.
