So I ended up taking out 2nd and 4th gears in my 1990 AOD 5.0 GT last night so I took it to the transmission shop first thing this morning. They checked it out and of course said it would need to be overhauled for $800 some dollars and $200 some for un-installing it, oil, parts and re-installing it. I figured it'd be around there but now I'm thinking while it's apart to have them throw in a 2500 stall convertor and a shift kit since the car has 2:73's and is pretty doggish off the line. I had them price it all out and for the overhaul, shift kit, top of the line stall convertor, parts and labor I'm lookin' at about $1700 What do you guys think about that idea, good or bad? going to be pretty quick when she's done?
