Im dropping a 331 in to a mustang and I am having a problem with trasmission selection. The motor is gonna have a 100 shot on it and it also has a farily big cam in it. For a street drivin car what is the best trans to go with??? A build AOD or a Built C4. Now the reason I ask is the other stang that I have has a 347 in it but it is a stick. But anyways when I drive it, if Im not in an lower gear at a higher rpm then the car bucks and shakes badly. I talked to the dyno and he said that it is because of the cam I have in it. Normal driving the cam is in its power range and it is starving for fuel and air. Give it gas and it goes away and ride in a lower gear for the rpms and its fine. I just dont know what it will do if I have an auto. What do you all think AOD or C4? The car will see some highway at times.
