Transmission Shops/ T5 Swap

I am from NW Indiana near chicago and I was wondering if you guys know of any good/trustworthy Transmission Shops or maybe a shop that specializes in mustangs that could swap out my aod for a t5 or tremec. I would like to get all the parts needed and then take it somewhere. Can anybody help.

well im not familiar with shops up there but a t - 5 swap is a very simple process all you need is to take out the aod and stall and flyswheel and drive shaft crossmember and tranny cooler and tranny cooler lines and then put your flywheel on make sure its balanced right and then but the clutch on the bellhousing and then the tranny and your clutch cable and crossmemeber and you would need a different drive shaft or moddifiy the one you have and then bolt up the drive shaft and thats basicly it it is a long process once you start doing it it is very easy and self explanitory let me know if you need any more help

my brother and i have both always used Trans-Pro in Lansing, IL. They are good guy and do a lot of hi-po work. They redid my brothers t-5 in his '01 GT. Their phone number is 708-895-0003. It is an easy swap though if you want to save a little money and do it yourself.

I'm going to get all the parts and then decide whether or not to do it myself. Thanks for the info guys!
