Transmission swap problems

I have an 89 Mustang convertible, 2.3 4-cylinder, A4LD transmission, blue (not that it matters ). I blew the front seal. I figured a quick pull, replace front seal, reinstall. Now that I'm past that dream I need help. I've pulled a few trannys in my life but this one has been a challenge. First off, I rounded the top starter bolt. Any chance to get tranny out with starter still attached? Second, are my eyes deceiving me or do some of the bellhousing to engine bolts go from front to rear as opposed to rear to front like every other transmission I've ever played with. How many bellhousing bolts are there? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
