Drivetrain Transmission Swap.....

Can anyone tell me if I can swap a T-45 out and replace it with a mt-82 without very much trouble? TIA.

You know it does make a difference which model year car you are tying to swap this into. Very different speed sensors in a 1996-1998 (VSS) verses 1999-2004 (OSS).

Note, a T-45 comes with a VSS sensor as well as a OSS sensor.

Are you expecting a "plug and play" swap?

What are you trying to accomplish?

Aside from the electrical considerations, the MT82 is very different in physical shape; wider case, and the shifter sits much further back. I've seen it done in Foxes, but I believe they had to use a specific shifter (to shorten the length a bit), and massage the transmission tunnel to get it to fit.
