transmission woes...

with only 18800 miles my tranny isnt looking good, it grinds sometimes into 2nd and everytime into 3rd at higher rpms...the question is, should i have it looked at and most likely have to replace the syncros or just buy a new and better one and what kind and where at?

I wouldn't get a tr-3650 rebuilt. Everyone seems to have problems with theirs, if they got the ford fix or not. Theres a thread on here somewhere that has about a million responses about it. Mine was doing it also so I just ordered a t-56 from D&D Performance. Its got a lot higher torque rating and the benefit of a six speed (gas milage)

i'm running a viper spec T56 from D&D. it is stronger than the cobra t56 and has a .50 overdrive ratio for even better gas mileage.

i have a 3650 that is in perfect condition if you're interested.

i would also second the T56 route if you have the funds. its gonna be what, 3500$ when its all said and done (youll also need a clutch kit and i dont remember if the T56 kits come with a flywheel)

Just drive that b1tch until it can't take it anymore!

Then swap in a performance tranny if you can afford it.

I have a brand new tranny straight from Ford. And guess what, 500 miles later it grinds and clunks gears too. Not one power shift or mis-shift in there. If you have the money, go another route!
