Alright. I now have 2 mustangs, I have an auto and a manual.

I like the manual way better, but i got this 2000 GT because it was gorgeous, the 2000 body style was great. The only problem with it is... I miss the manual transmission, and this happens to be an automatic. I thought I could live with it, but apparantly I am wrong.

What I want to do, is have the automatic switched to a manual, but... my question is, what kind of price range is this going to be in aka how much of a job is it?

Huge job. It would cost nearly as much as just buying 2000 mustang GT with 5 speed.

you would need so many things it would be silly to list them.

You could always get a higher stall torque converter and Jmod/shift kit your tranny, and i assure you it'll be more fun than the 5 speed. Add to that a tune to really stiffen up the shiftpoints and some 4.10's and you won't miss your stick at all.

Every car up until this one has been a stick, im an excellent stick driver, i just wanted a change and i have no problem with driving an auto, i got used to it and dont miss stick at all.

I thought so, I know a decent amount. I was just hoping there was some easy way to do it...

My issue I guess, is just the fact that the car doesnt perform nearly aswell ... Honestly, head to head the stick takes mine by a lil, I don't have a fortune to dump into mods though.

What exactly would I accomplish with what you mentioned, and possible to link me to parts?

other than the trans itself you would need a cross member and possibly a driveshaft. i just happen to know where all those parts are as well.

then all that would be needed is a set of pedals from a manual and a clutch cable.
i think thats all you would need.

PM me if you are really interested in the swap

oh yea a pressure plate, clutch and clutch fork. i have all that except the pressure plate

A Torque convertor is something like 250-500 dollars, i can't remember what i paid for mine...

Anyways, shiftkit will tighten up your shifts, you'll squeel into second possibly chirp into third, combine that with a tune and you'll demolish a 5 speed.

Basically all you have to overcome to beat a 5 speed is the extra ~7% power loss through the drivetrain. So really an h-pipe and mufflers would probably do that for you, but most 5 speeds are going to have that done as well, so your goal is to get the drivetrain better than a 5 speeds.

Just remember: An auto shifts faster than a 5 speed ever will be able to and its much more consistent, a built auto will almost always beat a built manual.

Americanmuscle.com should have everything you need.
http://americanmuscle.com/mopepl4ge.html 4.10 gears, you'll need to tack on an install on that, so approximately 800-1000 dollars total for gears.
http://americanmuscle.com/sct-xcalibrator-2.html Handheld tuner
You can get a torque convertor at any tranny shop, and the jmod is a do it yourself mod, search the forums for it... i think the tech article is on a thunderbird site, i can't remember the address.

Also check salvage yards as they will have many of the things you will need, like the pedal assembly, cables, etc. I'm not sure if you need to modify where the shifter is located when going from an auto to a manual, someone else here will know.
