Will the t-45 trans out of the sn95 mustangs mount up to the 92 5.0 block?? what mods will i have to do? and what problems will i be running into while doing this??

the reason why i am asking is because i can get a t-45 that needs a new tail shaft housing for free, it's either that or i can get a t-5 for 400 from a local auto parts/ junk yard.

400 for a JY T5 is a little steep.

you could use a 4cyc t5 if your in a bind.

94-95 t5 will work if you use the 94-95 bell housing or swap the input shaft out to a 87-93 style.

I done a quick search on yahoo. Someone on another mustang site says that the t45 can be used but you need a special adapter plate in order to install it. He also said the t45 is not any stronger than the World class T5. No mention of where to buy a adapter plate. Im sure that by the time you fix the t45 and buy the adapter plate etc etc it would be cheaper to buy a new t5.

You need an expensive adapter plate

T-45 is rated at 330 ft-lbs.
