I think the intake is on the opposite side on the Mark VIII. If you pick up the engine assembly with the wiring harness and ECU it should work. I was looking into it myself.

Nope, the intake is on the same side. The mustang EEC will work with some wiring changes.

Couldn't you use the harness from the donor? I've seen entire cars for
$3k-$4k. High miles but how hard could they have been run on average? considering how much some a putting into their 2V trying to get HP I think that isn't bad.

used to have a 94 mkVIII that I beat on heavily... had 130k on it when i got rid of it. (trans shot) motor was still great, burned a little oil on high rpm road trips, but still had lots of power, what a great motor, surprised quite a few honda's.:nice: most of these cars were owned by old people, and so were probably babied. I have heard that the weak spot in these engines is the piston/ring combo, not taking detonation well. Wanted to put the motor into an old capri I had, but i don't think it would have fit between the towers.

resurrection is fun :D

i was just lookin around and you seriously can find these things for cheap, so cheap its almost sickening. one of my questions were answered whether it was an aluminum or iron block

is this the predecessor to the 99 cobra engine?

my main question is if i pick up one of these engines for cheap having like 150k miles on it, i can just forge the internals and everything will be good? or is there more to rebuilding it so it doesnt crap out on me?

I am assuming theres not a lot of information regarding this. i checked the bullitt archive and google for this stuff but havent come up with much luck/information

basically should this conversion be trated as though i would be installing a 99 cobra engine into the gt? if thats the case i would need different motor mounts too wouldnt i?

the stock mounts are fine you will need a 8 bolt flywheel and you have to do some wiring changes but I think it's worth it if you can do the work yourself.

yea i will be doin it myself, with the help of a friend(if i get proper funding). arent these the teksid blocks? i read somewhere mentioning this, is that true?

LAST thing!:

Do i need to modify my exhaust system or will this thing bolt right up with cobra headers? or do i not even need the headers and can just use my stock gt maifolds?

Also regarding cams, do any cobra cams work in these blocks?

sorry for all the questions, you can expect a writeup from me if/when i do this :D
