Not sure if any other people on here have thought of this unique venture, but I have lots of info for you if you have. A lot of people say that a Lakewood BB toploader bellhousing will allow the combination to work, but in a Fox body it just aint gonna happen. Modern drivelines has a bellhousing that they developed with Lakewood that does work though and the main difference is that it allows the use of a cable operated clutch which all fox 5.0's have. Another bit of info: The toploader and the tremec share the same bolt pattern but the tremec input shaft is about 3/4" longer which means you either need to get a tremec short shaft or a spacer. For old mustangs the idea is to use a short shaft to keep the length similar to the 4-speed it is replacing. For newer fox mustangs, the idea is to use the spacer to keep the length the same. If you use a short shaft tremec with a toploader bellhousing, your driveshaft may be too short and your crossmember may not work without modifying it. Since the lakewood bellhousing is shorter; using a spacer puts the tremec back to its original position as if it was still bolted to a small block. Modern driveline's bellhousing kit includes the block plate, all bolts, the bellhousing and even the fork. There clutch kits include all bolts, clutch assy, and both pilot and throwout bearings.
Thought I would share the info because I have seen most folks use a C6 when they go down the 429/460 road. I'm not sure if its a money issue or if they just didnt think it was feasible or easy enough, but it is. I myself prefer a stick over an auto and I would hate not having an overdrive. So as much as I love the idea of having a big block, I could never use a C6.
