What does "apply a thin bead of silicone gasket maker" mean? Is this something that I need to buy seperately for the install? I'm a little confused and need to get my shifter installed. Thanks
yeah, you need to buy some liquid gasket (usually the blue goop) or RTV sealant to put on the lip between the shifter and the top of the tranny housing.
Yea it's the liquidy sealant stuff that you have to buy. I went to autozone and bought some black RTV sealant. Make sure you cleaned off the stock sealant then put on the new coat. Easiest way to put on sealant? With your finger..
yes go to a local hardware store and ask for black silicone gasket maker. it goes in place of the black gasket on the stock shifter if i remember correctly
