trick flow heads with speed pro pistons

I'm looking at some trick flow heads, supposedly with stock pistons they can handle a pretty decent cam size, something like 224@.050.

I do not have stock pistons, I am running speedpro's that are cut for 2.02 valves but are not ment for the altered angle of the trick flows.

Since I have pistons cut for 2.02 valve can I sill get away with running more cam? I'm thinking something in the area of 226-230. .550 lift.

Or do aftermarket pistons make no difference since these heads have an altered valve angle?

The aftermarket inline piston makes little to no difference with the Rotated valve.....

I'd still pick the TFS over the E'brocks....if you want an inline head look at the AFR's.

I have looked at afr's. I'm not looking to buy new heads otherwise I would dish out the extra cash for them. Even in used form they're going for $1100 or more.

Used e-brock are relatively cheap and based on the numerous dyno testing shootouts on the various heads, AFR's typically make roughly 20+ peak hp and torque over the E-brocks. That's not enough for me spend the extra money. In addition to that, AFR's D shaped exhaust port would require me to buy a new set of headers, otherwise sacrifice flow and power.

I'm not looking for the absolute most HP, 20 or so difference isn't that big of a deal for me, These will be going on a 306.

A friend of mine runs the 1.90 E-brock RPM's, mild cam (~224/~232) 9:1 comp, puts out 420 at the flywheel.

I'm just looking for low-mid 12's in a 3k pound car, I don't think the difference between AFR's and the E-brocks is gonna make or brake my goal, considering there are guys here in the 12's with stock E7's. I was considering the Trick flows from what I have read on them, but I don't want to deal with the headache of p/v clearance issues. I already went through that hassle on my last build and ended up having to retard the already tame cam to get enough clearance.
