Purchased a trick flow intake and arrived on saturday, when I first took it out of the box I thought it was damaged, so I called summit back and asked for a exchange.

Now the new one should arrive tomorrow, and I have been searching pics of the intake on the net to only find that they all seem to have the same thing.
These indents in the front.(looks like sombody runnin the cnc machine f**ked up)

The only thing that I would think they are for is clearance for the distibuter and fuel rails. But there is nothing mentioned in the instructions.

Can anyone give me more insight to this or is my intake damaged. Will find out tommorrow when the new one arrives. May even call trick flow too.

Plus does this make the front ear prone to braking when tightening, looks like it wouldn't help any.

Never noticed them on anyone elses intake before.

Yes, that is for the clearance of fuel line and distributor. They all have it and you won't see it when everything is put back together.

Here is the grove on my track heat, it goes all the way across.
