Just got my December issue of MM&FF. in October, never understood that. but anyway, there is an article where they test the Trick Flow 2V intake manifold.

results, 13rwhp on a blown 2000.

why they didn't test it on a n/a car, i don't know.

they did mention that the stock heads are more of a restriction than the manifold, hence the low gains. they suggest larger gains on cars with ported heads and cams.

it's all about advertisement zero gains for $800 not very good in advertising and that is all magazines are advertisment.

Just about the only magazine that isn't an ad is Consumer reports.

yea, but there is proof of some of the other intakes like the p51 and the bullitt picking up 20-30rwhp with a supercharger.

to be honest i have heard some claim they picked up more then that.

now that you mention it, yeah i rmember seeing larger gains with an unported bullit manifold on a supercharged GT with stock heads.

The intake manifold isn't holding the 4.6 down by any means unless you are supercharged or something of the sort. Ford actually did a good job (other than the plastic) on the design and these companies spending money to attempt to prove otherwise have simply failed in the long run.

There are gains when it comes to FI cars, though nothing too impressive for the N/A guys that don't have major work.

so in short the Trick Flow intake is worth about as much horsepower as chrome wheels or a decent set of aftermarket seats...

maybe they should just market it as an appearance mod?
