trick flow track heat ?

what size t/b and mass air do i need for a stock block and heads. the only thing that is done to the block is a e303. anything else i will need you guys could think of that i will need please let me know. thanks in advance!

I don't mean to be rude and I apologize in advance if I offend you, but a TFS Track Heat is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much intake for stock heads, even with an E cam. With the bottleneck of the small stock heads, you could get away with keeping the stock throttle body and MAF with probably zero difference in power than going larger.

no offence taken thanks for the reply. i didnt know there would be a problem when i bought it. do you think having the heads ported would help w/ the "bottle neck" ? or should i go w/ some twisted wedge heads. when i got the intake i wanted something i could grow into. i think i may have left myself to much room!

I had the track heat on my 93 , great intake .

My car had stock heads and cam . I also bought the intake with the intention of adding aftermarket heads and cam later . I installed the intake anyway along with 70mm TB and larger Mass air meter (dont remember what size it was a while ago) .

I did notice a slight loss of low end torque but did seem to pull harder in the upper RPM's .

You will be fine if you want to put in on now , I just love working on my car and modding it so I just couldnt wait.....

No bigger than 70mm is my suggestion. 70 works for me but I have heads too. I would stick with the stock one for now till you get heads.

I ran a 75mm TB and a RPM intake on my stock long-block for about a year, worked great. I dont like buying parts twice so that's why I put the big stuff on (the stock heads/cam), now they work perfect with my TFS heads/cam swap

thanks for the great info guys. i read in another thread about thumper porting the heads would that be good enough or should i go with tfs or afr's? my plan for the car is street/strip.

It just depends on your budget and how much you are willing to spend right now .

The ideal situation would be to do HCI all at once . Getting your heads ported by Thumper would definately help , from feedback on this forum he does an awesome job .

Of course stepping up to a set of aluminum heads like TF or AFR would be ideal but again thats a $$$ issue .

Your choice!

I myself and ordering the Track Heat Intake for my stang. Tell me what you all think about the current mods and what kind of difference it will make. I plan on adding heads in the future so that is why I am getting the track heat now.

2. Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator
3. Cold Air Intake
4. BBK Shorty Headers
5. Dynomax Exhaust soon to be Flowmaster with Dumps
6. 80mm BBK Mass Air Meter
7. 75mm BBK Throttle Body
8. 75mm BBK EGR Spacer
9. 3:73 Gears

Thank you any comments would be great. Also I read that some installs require a new aftermarket fuel rail, is this true because Summit Racing doesn't mention it anywhere on their site and they usually would if that were the case.

qcrun98 the mass air meter, tb and egr spacer are way over kill for the set up you have now. I would at least have thumper port your heads. Thats got to bottle neck even worse then cjnecessary car. No offence to any one but just some advice get some ported heads or some thing and your car would be so much better.

Stock rails are fine with the track heat. Thats what I ran on my "blown up" combo

Thank you for the input. Tell you the truth the engine may have aftermarket heads already the person I bought it off of was not sure of all the mods as they had just bought it and were selling it to make money. All they knew was that the engine had just been totally rebuilt by a guy who builds race car engines at a local shop lol. I know not much info. The car sounds and feels to me like it has alot more than just the aftermarket cam but don't know. I was planning on taking it to a local performance shop here in town and having him look at the heads and if they are not already done, p/p my heads.

Everything I put for the mods was already done to the car before I bought it. All I have done is had the Tranny Rebuilt with a shift kit and the fuel pressure regulator.

Would you guys suggest me to order the Street Heat instead of the Track Heat with my setup, is there that much difference I would feel between the 2? Please let me know what you would do as I am new to building a 5.0. Thank You so much.

If you plan on getting a nice set of heads someday just throw on the track heat until then, no use wasting money down the road. If you are sticking with a light combo with say thumpers or gt40 heads I would go street heat.
