I heard that the springs on the Trick Flow TW heads suck and can't handle cams with lift about .500, is that true? Thanks.

Springs:
1.470 in. diameter single with damper
110 lbs at 1.800 in. installed height
Open Pressures: 290 lbs at .500 in. lift and 305 lbs. at .540 in. lift giving 360 pounds per inch spring rate
Maximum Recommended Lift:
.540 in. max valve lift

Well the STG 1 cam is .499/.510 and they sell it as a kit with the TW heads so i guess they can.

The maximum valve lift isn't low.....its just low compared to other high performance heads. Edelbrock for example comes with springs that can handle .575 lift.

Alright, I guess I was misinformed then. I'm getting a set to use with my new motor and I was told by someone who supposively is a dealer for them that the TF stage 1 cam wouldn't work unless I upgraded the springs. Thanks guys.

Stage 1 should work, it is the Stage 2 that requires the change in springs.
