trip / odometer stopped working

meh... something else broke.

Now its the trip / odometer.

I pushed the stick in to the clear the trip, and they died.

What do I need to check?

same thing happen to mine and for some reason the gears inside the cluster just broke... got me why.. So i bought a v6 cluster out of the junk yard (didn't want to use the original) and took the trip and everything out and set the numbers and installed it on mine.

yeah, this is a problem. There is a cheap plastic gear that keeps those movin' and they break. I had mine fixed by a speedo shop near me. they wanted over $100, but some guy working there heard my conversation and did it on his lunch break for $50. They replaced it with a metal gear.

I just saw you live in FL. The place is called Lauderdale Speedometer and I believe they take mailed in orders if you are desperate enough to get it fixed. It drove me crazy, don't know why, but it did.
They had a web site if you wanted to search it up for a quote.

Kyle, I spent mucho $$$ to get mine fixed last year because I was too lazy to fix it..

Why it happens....?
Aside from age, mainly from resetting it will the car is moving. You should ALWAYS be still when resetting it...

Good info, not that I ever really reset it while driving but good to know anyway.

is the gear behind the speedo housing? or are you talking the speedo gear in the tranny?
