Trouble code showed "EGR AIR FLOW"

Car is chugging really badly and popped the code EGR AIR FLOW INSUFFICIENT. I checked to make sure the EGR tube was on I took off the EGR valve to make sure it's not all "gunked" up. Anyone else ever have this happen and know what it could be? I really don't want to have to bring my car into ford.

Mods are in my sig but exhaust and such has been on now for a few months and the code only popped up 4 days ago.

If the two tubes to the DPFE (differential pressure flow element) are clear then it is likely that the DPFE is the problem. There is also a little regulator solenoid (EGRV) that can go bad but it is more reliable than the DPFE.
