Trunk Light Out, Not The Bulb - Maybe Fuse?

My trunk light is out, and with it went my sequentials...

I think I blew a fuse, but all of the fuses under the hood are good as well as all of them under the dash.

Can you guys please tell me what else could be the problem? Maybe the kit went bad? Maybe an inline fuse on the kit?

sicK96GT and I are going to pull the kit out tomorrow to see if that fuse is bad...but I wanted to see if anyone knew of any other common problems that could be there.

Thanks!

I don't know how the sequentials are wired in but are they spliced into the trunk light (I'm assuming you mean the light inside the trunk)? Is the trunk light bulb itself, burned out or does it still look good?

Could be the remote keyless entry module going bad. Do you have your interior dome lights and glove box light? I had a similar problem where I didn't have any of these lights working including the trunk light. Replaced the RKE module and now they work again. The RKE completes a circuit so if it is going bad then parts of the car won't work.

The trunk light bulb is fine -- I even put a new one in to see if that worked. It didn't.

The sequential kit is spliced into the taillights, and it gets it's power from the third brake light OR the inside trunk light, not sure which one. So with my trunk lights, went my sequentials ;)

Only the inboard taillights light up for braking and signalling, and the third brake light works just fine.

 I asked myself the same til my wife bought her GT and, OMG, there is a trunk light.
Subscribing...same problem here, new bulb, still no workie...not a biggie, but annoying when unloading groceries at night and you need a friggin flashlight. :notnice:
Wow, i'm gonna have to check that out tomorrow at work and try out a new bulb.
Awesome.:D

Where is the RKE module located? Is it that yellow module on the driver side of the trunk that's labeled "ANTI-THEFT?"

I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow...

Gary (the guy who made the sequential kit) and I were on the phone for nearly 2 hours trouble shooting it. We found that the wire showed no resistance, and had the correct voltage as well, but when a load was placed on it, it would drop out to between 4 and 7 volts. He had me jump the sequential unit directly to the battery, which then it worked perfect, so we eliminated that part of the grid. I am SO confused.

Any thoughts or ideas?
