Hey guys! My trunk will not pop on its own. When I push the button on the remote it will release the lock, but I have to manually pull on the trunk lid to open it. It started doing this about a month after I got the car. I never hit the lock area right there with anything to damage it in any way.

Has anyone else had this issue before? I am taking it into the dealer Monday for some other warranty work also, so I will give you an update.

Thanks guys!

Can't say I have. Check the lining where the trunk meets the lid. Check and see if anything's jamming up the lock mechanism, though I doubt it.

Trunk

My '06 has never opened by itself. I push the button, the lock releases and I have to lift the lid. Is it supposed to open by itself?

Yes it is supposed to open by itself. I wouldn't think that Ford would changed that between the 05 to 06 model years, that would be a little goober.

My '06 has to be lifted manually and I think I prefer it that way.

Open how much by itself? Mine may open an inch or so but that's it. Is it supposed to go up more than that? I also think I prefer having to open it fully myself.

no, cars are designed to only open a little bit. cars that open all the way need adjustment.....(or none at all)

The only problem I've had with the trunk is that little button on the remote is waaaaay too easy to accidently press.
I don't know how many times it's popped the trunk unintended.

I have the same problem on mine, the weatherstripping is sticky and holds the trunk from releasing. I put some armour-all on the weatherstripping and it kept it from sticking.

I will try that thanks. But before, it would pop open a inch or two when I hit the button. So I would just have to push it up, but now it doesn't pop at all and I have to really pull on it to get it open.

Thanks for all your help guys!
