tryin to change fans...PLEASE HELP !!!

There is no info about your car's model year or mods, which make it hard to tell what's in your car. That's why it is a good idea to use the sig under the user control panel (User CP) option. It allows you to post your car year & mods, which help greatly when troubleshooting things. No, it is not there for us to snoop and see any "Secrets" you have hidden away under the hood. Be a good stangnetter and update your sig for future reference & don't keep us guessing.

Every electric fan installation needs a 100-130 amp alternator. The stock 65 amp unit just isn't big enought to power everything and an electric fan. The 3G is the unit of choice for most Mustangs. See the "Useful Technical Thread Index" sticky at the top of the forum for more information.

See the article at http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/02/electricfan/index.shtml - it is the start to finish how to do it for electric fans.

Autozone or Advance Discount Auto Parts will have the electric fan controllers you need.
Ask for Hayden 226204 ($60, adjustable) or 226206 ($27, non adjustable)

for more infor see www.haydenauto.com/pdf/imperial/electric-fans/electric-fans.pdf all the information about electric fans and controllers you would ever want to know.

Also see www.dccontrol.com for the best fan controller on the market today.

heres how its wired

one wire goes to the battery, and the other is the ground.. just a bolt thats on the car pinched..the other goes to the battery..

this is what i did differant.. i added a fuse, with a toggle switch, for manual on and off.. i leave it on when the car is off it shuts off by it self, when i start the car it turns on by it self..

i can't help with how you wire it, but i have the same fan. i got it from holcomb along w/ the alum rad. they work perfectly. you will love the way they work after you get them in. i upgraded my alt and used a dc fan control. def one of my better upgrades. i raced at the track with this setup and ran perfect. even ran laps back to back for all the car was worth. no over heating at all or any problems. oh yeah the temps were well into the 80's so it was a hot day as well. good luck

90mustang your way does work but it is much better to have a theromatic controll because you don't need the fan running all the time.

yeah i kno. but its not much drawl at all.. and the hottest day i had my car our the temp needle didnt even lift.. it shuts off when the car is off, i just leave the toggle on... that way when i fire it up it fires up too. one time i twisted the key forward and turned it off, to listen to the radio while i was pumping gas.. and forgot it was off.. only drove it about 1 1/2 mile to my house and the coolant was boiling out of the res; lol i was so pist! but ive never has a problem with it so i dont think im gonna change it now..
