Trying To Find Shocks To Accompany My Eibach Springs

I bought a 97 cobra that was lowered with eibach springs. I have no clue how much it's lowered either. It needs shocks, a couple are blown. I want to make sure I get the correct shocks where my car is lowered. Any help would be great.

Or buy some over the counter ones for a fox as they are about an inch shorter.

The over the counter ones would be my best bet right now. Low on funds at the moment. I think my car must be dropped at least 2". Do you think the fox shocks would bottom out? Thanks

I looked at prices. I think I'll just go with strange, the ones I'm looking at are adjustable. As long as they're strange shocks, they'll go fine with my lowered springs?

You'll need to check with the manufacturer. Some of them are for lowered cars some are for stock height.

There are a lot of great choices for struts and shocks out there. Just depends on how much you would like to spend. Tokico, Koni, Bilstien, etc. I got the the Bilstien struts and shocks and they have held up great so far. Ride quality they are not too hard and not too soft perfect if you ask me definitely worth it.

Why not Eibach? I'm happy with mine.

The Eibach Springs are great quality springs. Everyone I ever knew that used the Eibach Springs to lower their Ford Mustang was quite happy with them. The Eibach Pro Kit Springs make for the perfect drop and stance I think. The only problem I ever heard about Eibach Springs are the Eibach Sportline Springs sag over time. I am not sure if Eibach corrected the problem with the Sportline Springs or not don't quote me on it. I would do it right the first time though and install new struts and shocks and quad shocks, caster camber plates, and go to the dealership or whatever shop you go to and to get an alignment after your new springs are installed. I had a bad alignment before unevenly wear both my front tires. An alignment is well worth the investment as it will save your tires over time.

I've never had an issue with sportlines sagging over time. They do ride like ass but overall put the car at a nice ride height.

My favorite lowering spring has been a FRPP C spring on a fox. I've not used them on a SN but in a fox they were perfect and rode so much better than the sportlines.


I currently have steeda springs in my car and it's stupid low and has a good ride (Koni adjustables as well).

I guess I was unlucky but I had the Eibach Pro Kit Springs and both front coils snapped. I replaced them with Vogtland springs and some used Bilstein struts and shocks. I also have MM Caster / Camber plates. The techs can really dial in the alignment properly with the CC plates. Now, for the IRS, I needed to install FTBR Toe Links and the IRS Eccentric Camber Adjusting Bolts. My OEM links were rusted solid and the OEM adjusting bolts just fell apart between the bolt and the eccentric.

I have never looked back. But that is my situation. Mileage may vary.
