RS200,

Why would you spend $28,000 on a Civic SI when you could get an SRt-4 or an STI for that price?

I refuse to spend anything over $23k for an Si. Calibers suck so bad, and I doubt the SRT version of it will do any better. An STi is around $10k more in the States; tempting, but probably not. I just need a good, fun, cheap winter beater.

What's wrong with the WRX? You see the one above that I bought, didn't you?

j/k

In all seriousness, the WRX is a GREAT car. I can't wait to get off work tonight so I can drive it home. THAT'S how much I enjoy the ride. Would you even consider purchasing one, or is the WRX a car you simply don't prefer?

I agree that it's a great car, but something about it doesn't work for me. I don't know what it is, but every car has something that completely turns me off.

I really like the new Civic Si. I think it looks good, it has an amazing interior, great engine & transmission, good sound system and it's a great bargain. Problem is, my friend bought the first 2006 Si in my city..which would be a 2 door. He said he would take a little offense if I got a 2 door, so I thought about a 4 door. It performs at the same level and has all of the same good features, so it's a good compromise. One of the few 4-doors I'd get, really.

New Caliber SRT4 starts at $24995 iirc. For $5k more I could buy a brand new Infiniti G35x sedan. Faster, and lightyears ahead in every other department (especially interior).

Dude, I saw an AMG Mercedes at my dealership when I was buying the WRX for only $25,000. There's lots of good cars out there. I've always like the 90s model Civic SI's. Matter of fact, I was highly considering purchasing one for my fiance. The new ones just don't do anything for me. I guess how the WRX doesn't do anything for you.

*gets in his WRX and drives it back to the dealership to trade it in since nobody likes it*

*realizes this would be the 2ND car he's traded in in less than a month*

*makes a left turn and decides to drive straight off a cliff in an effort to end the frustration of owning a new car*

Talk to me is this for subaru's only?? i used to have an 03 WRX and i plan on having another one shortly.. This open source ECU tuning will basically take the place of like a ECUtek or Cobb AP??

They have Subarus down including WRXs, STI's & Legacy's. There should be a complete list on their site somewhere. They also have the ability to tune some EVO's as well.

Yes, Enginuity takes all of the tuning and puts it into your hands. No need for an AccessPort or ECUtek. Instead of loading pre-made Cobb maps, you can create your own and tune it to YOUR car. The only downside is that there is no real "support" to call if you need help with Enginuity. But they do have an excellent site with a forum full of people willing to help.

Plus it's alot cheaper than the AP, I can't justify $800 or whatever it is for an off the shelf tune.

Like I said, I'll have try to have them this weekend.

Now, I just ordered some aftermarket IC hoses. I hear these make a difference in the boost coming on harder and faster, is this true?

That's what I hear, don't have any experience using them. Although I do see how it would help airflow as the stock IC piping is hard plastic and is not smooth. I'll probably pick some up myself soon.

Replacing the turbo inlet pipe is also supposed improve boost response too, but more expensive/difficult to install.

I will be ordering the turbo inlet pipe a little later on, but I can't WAIT to get rid of these crappy stock hoses. I think the Samco IC hoses are supposed to add 1-2 psi of boost as well. So I would imagine the turbo inlet will be beneficial too.
