Hi All,
Is there any bolt-in replacement for the tubular crossmember under the engine on a 68 that is sturdier than the original? Some lazy a$$hole at a tire store jacked the front of my car on mine and my camber was WAY out afterwards (top of tire leaning out). By the time I drove the ten miles to home, it was almost back to being "in spec". This leads me to believe that the OEM piece is not very strong/stiff. Many of us put on export braces, monte carlo bars, etc. to stiffen the upper side of our front suspension, but I hear very little about addressing the lower side. What are the options/issues?
TIA,
Gene

2+2GT,
Where is that one available from. Since I posted the question, I found a similar oneat NPD. Kind of pricey and it doesn't appear to mount to original location. I think I may make my own out of 2"x2" square tube.
Thanks,
Gene

I've never used it, but Cobra Automotive has it. Attaches to the OE bolts, and the inner end of the lower control arm.

Check out "Control Freak" I've seen theirs on eBay for appx. $150. It's supposed to stiffen up your front chassis, because it fastens to your LCA bolts, as well as the factory location.
