I see you run a ganitelli w/ your set up. Is that MAF recald to the injectors or was that all taken care of w/ the chip? What it really boils down to for me is will I need a start up tune or will i be able to drive it to the dyno for a tune? Now if I go with a Ligthning MAf or SCt meter I will most definately need the start up tune. But if I go Pro-M then i can probably drive it to the dyno at least im hoping this would be possible. But is it the right way to go? Whats better for tuning purposes a recald metter or one like the lighting? Sorry gady for the sidetrack but it seems to me that the MAF is a key player in the tune and chip.

any input would be great
No prob as you are looking for basic understanding here
I'll hit the high points
and
if you want all the details ... look on my site
A maf IS about airflow ... NOT ... about fuel inj size
When we mod our Stangs .........
Our need of more fuel (larger inj's) presents itself
way before
Our need of a meter that can report more airflow to the pcm
Where most get confused is ...........
the maf manufacturers devised that ....... "Cheat Method"
as a way for using larger inj's without a custom tune
Most just naturally think all meters are called for a certain
size inj
anyway .........
It worked Kinda Sorta OK with the Fox Stangs
but
Its a bit Sucky with our Stangs
Any method of tuning which gives access to the maf transfer and
inj size values in the pcm will be more accurate than that "Cheat Method"
which is based upon falsely reporting values to the pcm.
When one can understand this info here about .............
how the inj's and maf work together .............
You see your Stang in a whole different light
and
You see the differences between it and the older Fox Stangs
This maf/inj stuff took me a while to get my head around it
but
Since our cars are load based
and
the maf is used to determine that load
You wanna be as accurate as possible in this area
Clear as mud
