Greetings,
I own a '00 GT 'Vert . It has about 67k miles on it.
Other than the air filter, front and rear brake shoes and pads, and oil (of course!),my 'Stang is all OEM.
My 'Stang is mostly all stock. It has never had a "tune up".

I plan to get a tune up shortly.
What do you suggest replacing?

Here is my plan:
Replace spark plugs
Replace struts. (It drives like crap! I can feel every bump!)
Replace the "S" belt.
Replace rear shock absorbers.
Replace air filter.
Replace fuel filter.

Can you suggest anything else?
Thanks!

Add brake fluid change, fuel filter, pcv valve, check your belts, hoses, rotate tires, if manual then fluid, and I also defer to Kilgore for all your maintenance needs.

'99+ has coil on plug ignition.. at $40 or so a piece, im not sure you'd want to replace all those unless they weren't functioning correctly . Usually when one goes, its fairly easy to find which coil is busted by buying one new coil, and testing each cylinder until the misfire goes away. I wish my '97 had COP

Other than that, you guys seem to have covered it all. Be sure to check for excessive play in your front wheels, which could signify worn tie rod ends - also, weird wear patterns on the front tires means your ball joints are shot (both my tie rod ends and ball joints were busted by 70k, so its worth a look).

Also, replace your fuel filter while you're at it, clean your IAC, and be sure you buy a Goodyear Gatorback serpentine belt

Agreed! At LEAST $40 a pop - these don't need replaced unless defective.

some minor things that may be over looked such as wiper blades, and tire pressure. sea foam wouldn't be a bad idea.

Am I correct?

Struts = $
Ball Joints = $$
and
Tie rods = $$$$

Knowing my luck, I will need all 3!

Thanks for those great suggestions!

I got nothin You guys pretty much covered it

I do not think you will need ball joints and tie rods, the only way to know for sure is to inspect them.

If you do wind up needing ball joints...I did last year. I swapped out the entire A arm for the 03 Cobra A arm. It comes with new Ball Joints installed and cost me @ $150 for the set. The Cobra arms are a direct swap and improve steering and are better for lowered cars. I highly reccomend instead of pressing new ball joints in your stock A arms.

+1. I swapped mine out 6 months ago by putting on the 03 Cobra arm. Nice improvement. The front suspension was already off during the LT install.
