When i put 4.10s in am i going to need a tune to fix the part throttle shifts and torque converter lock-up? I already have the predator so can i just get a mail order tune from someone to fix the stuff i cant do. Who would you guys recomend?

yes, all your shift points will need to be adjusted. get it tuned. can't you change the tune for the gears yourself in the Predator?

I sent that same question to my tuner.

I have a custom tune to tweak the part throttle shift points to perfection. It feels and sounds more like a 5-speed than an almost constant hum as your drive. I asked him how will calibrating the speedo for gears affect the shift points. I'll let you know more when I get his reply. Remind me, in case I forget.

You can change the speedo and the wot shift points but not the part throttle shifts yet. There is supposed to be an update soon that will allow us to change the part throttle shift points but im not waiting for that and a custom tune would hopefully make my car run a little better too

Go for them thats all I can say and then get a coustom tune on an
SCT Xcal. 2. You wont regret it. I just got mine done today and WOW thats all I can say. Its like driving a whole other car. I took it out today and itll spin the tires in the 2-3 and 3-4 shift. My cars absolutley stock other than those two things I they said I shlould break in to the 13s.

Ok. I heard back from the man. When you change the gear ratio in the Predator and flash the tune into your car, it adjusts the part throttle shift tables accordingly. You will not have to dork with them due to the 4.10s.

You will have to watch your WOT shifts though. The car with 4.10s will accelerate quicker, which means you'll be going up in RPMs faster. It still takes the transmission the same time to complete the shift so the WOT shift points might be a little late. If you hit the rev limiter, you'll have to bump down the WOT shift point a little.

As far as custom tuners that use DiabloSport tools, I'm happy with www.runninwiththedevil.com. He has a lot of positive feedback on other message boards. Sometimes the response time is a little slow but usually I get responses back within a week or two.

Man, I hear ya. 100% agreement on that one.

I'm going with Injected for a custom tune. He seems very knowledgable about it. I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm the impatient type (or at least, I look forward to stuff a lot and can't WAIT to try it out). So his "day" turn around time sounds great to me.

I'll let you guys know how it goes. Otherwise, I'm probably going to sell my car and get a 5 speed, or at least something that has a well shifting auto.

Have him raise the part throttle shift points so it hold the gears longer before it shifts without having to stomp the pedal.
